For carpenters, plumbers, electricians, concrete workers, furniture makers & builders

Your skills built that job. Ready to build your own business?

You do the work. You should keep more of what it earns.

If you've ever looked at what your company charges for your work and wondered why you see so little of it, you're not alone. Going out on your own is doable, and the paperwork doesn't have to stop you. We build the business system for you, in your own accounts, so you can focus on the trade.

Where the money from your work goes

When a customer pays your company for a job, that money covers more than you. It pays for the person doing the work, and it pays for the back office: the estimates, invoices, scheduling, bookkeeping, phones and follow-up, plus the owner's share on top.

When you go out on your own, you're the one doing the work and the one who owns the business, so more of what you earn stays with you. The catch has always been that back office. That's the part we build for you.

What we build for you

Everything is set up in your name and your accounts. Once it's built, it runs itself, you have the final say on everything, and it's all yours.

Getting set up

A clear walk-through of the setup steps, like forming an LLC and filing a business name (DBA), with pointers to the right official forms and offices.

Business bank account

A business bank account opened in your name, so job money stays separate from personal money from day one.

Estimates & invoices

Clean, professional estimates and invoices you can send from your phone, with reminders when a customer hasn't paid.

Bookkeeping

Income and expenses tracked as you go, so tax time is a tidy package for your accountant instead of a shoebox.

Job scheduling

A calendar for jobs, estimates and site visits, with reminders for you and your customers.

Business phone line

One business number for calls, voicemail and texts, kept separate from your personal phone, with written notes of every message.

Customer follow-up

Every lead lands on one list, quotes get a friendly follow-up, and happy customers get an easy way to leave a review.

We test everything with you and show you how it works. You're the boss from here, and support is there if you want it.

Questions

Do I need a license?

It depends on your trade and the kind of work you do. Check with your state licensing board before you take on jobs. In North Carolina, start with the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors, the NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors, or the NC State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors.

What about a non-compete?

Read your current employment agreement before you make the jump, and if it has a non-compete or similar clause, talk it over with an attorney.

Who owns the business and the system?

You do, from day one. Every account is in your name, and everything we build is yours to keep.

Will I depend on you?

No. We build it, hand it over, and it runs on its own. If you ever want help with it, we're here, but you never have to.

We don't give legal, tax, or licensing advice. For those, talk with an attorney, CPA, or your state licensing board.
